SKIN CARE ROUTINE FOR DRY SKIN: TIPS AND TRICKS FOR A BEAUTIFUL SKIN

By on August 16, 2020

Dry skin can be frustrating. It would be challenging to put on makeup and it tends to be itchy all day. Dry skin is not easy to care for, especially if you have no idea on how to do it. People often wonder how often they should use a facial cleanser. Some are not sure whether they should switch to a heavy moisturizer. There are endless questions that surround dry skin. What most people are not aware of is that certain skin care steps contribute to your dry skin.

Stop the steamy hot showers

A hot, steamy shower can feel so relaxing at the end of a long tiring day. But, it turns out to be not great for the skin. Soaking in a hot shower strips your skin of its natural moisture. If you cannot make do without a hot shower, at least take a shorter bath. You can apply a moisturizer to your face or body after the shower to help lock in hydration.

Find the right facial cleanser

One of the basics of skin care is washing your face twice a day. Skin accumulates dirt, grime, and pollution throughout the day, which causes clogged pores. You have to be gentle with dry skin. Use micellar water to magnet and lift oil, dirt, and makeup away from your skin. No need to rinse. You only have to saturate a cotton pad with the cleanser and wipe the pad over your face. Look for a cleanser formulated for normal to dry skin.

Stay moisturized

You have to moisturize your skin no matter what skin type you have. Applying moisturizer on your skin should be the last step in your skin care routine. Cleansing, toning, and serum should come first. Find a moisturizer with SPF to stay protected from the sun. Aloe vera and hyaluronic acid also helps your skin to stay hydrated for a longer time.

Exfoliate every week

It is best to exfoliate at least once or twice a week, but do not overdo it. Exfoliating helps remove the dead skin cells. Try a gentle exfoliating face wash and see how your skin reacts to it. Always rinse off with lukewarm water.

Do not forget to remove your makeup before you go to sleep. You will end up with breakouts and blackheads. At least use makeup-removing towelettes if you are too tired to clean up. Visit https://berrygrace.com/skin-care/best-setting-powder-for-dry-skin-review/ for more information about dry skin.
