By on June 17, 2019

The Mahindra XUV300 compact SUV is the most anticipated launch in the segment by the homegrown automaker. With the price of Mahindra XUV300 in India between Rs.From 8 lakh to 12 lakh, will be launched against Ford EcoSport and to some extent, Hyundai Creta. Mahindra XUV300 is compared with Hyundai Creta and Ford EcoSport.

Dimensions: Mahindra XUV300 is the widest and is also found in the longer wheelbase compared to Creta and EcoSport. Having the longest wheelbase means that you get spacious interiors. On the other hand, Hyundai Creta is the highest and longest SUV here in the segment, since it is not an offer of less than 4 meters. Even Ford EcoSport is longer than the Mahindra XUV300 but only 3 mm, which does not make much difference. Being the longest here, Creta takes everything in its hand with a starting capacity of 405 liters, EcoSport has a boot of 352 liters and XUV300 has the smallest boot of all with only 257 liters of capacity.

Engine: Mahindra said earlier that the petrol and diesel versions will come with the best torque figures in the segment. And comparing it with Hyundai Creta and Ford EcoSport, the numbers are high with both counterparts. Although the home-grown automaker has not revealed much about the engine, you can expect it to come with a 1.2-liter, 3-cylinder turbocharged engine that makes 108 HP with 200 Nm. Ford EcoSport is offered with two petrol engine options: a 1.0-liter turbo-petrol and a 1.5-liter petrol engine that produces 123 hp at 170 Nm and 121 hp at 150 Nm, respectively. On the other hand, Hyundai Crete is offered with a 1.6-liter petrol engine that produces 121 hp with 151 Nm of torque. Now, if you compare the official specifications of Mahindra XUV300 with its rivals, the new SUV gets the highest torque figures of all, but with a reduced number, in terms of power.
