2019 Mahindra XUV300 vs. Hyundai Creta vs. Ford EcoSport – Specification Comparison
The Mahindra XUV300 compact SUV is the most anticipated launch in the segment by the homegrown automaker. With the price of Mahindra XUV300 in India between Rs.From 8 lakh to 12 lakh, will be launched against Ford EcoSport and to some extent, Hyundai Creta. Mahindra XUV300 is compared with Hyundai Creta and Ford EcoSport.
Dimensions: Mahindra XUV300 is the widest and is also found in the longer wheelbase compared to Creta and EcoSport. Having the longest wheelbase means that you get spacious interiors. On the other hand, Hyundai Creta is the highest and longest SUV here in the segment, since it is not an offer of less than 4 meters. Even Ford EcoSport is longer than the Mahindra XUV300 but only 3 mm, which does not make much difference. Being the longest here, Creta takes everything in its hand with a starting capacity of 405 liters, EcoSport has a boot of 352 liters and XUV300 has the smallest boot of all with only 257 liters of capacity.

Engine: Mahindra said earlier that the petrol and diesel versions will come with the best torque figures in the segment. And comparing it with Hyundai Creta and Ford EcoSport, the numbers are high with both counterparts. Although the home-grown automaker has not revealed much about the engine, you can expect it to come with a 1.2-liter, 3-cylinder turbocharged engine that makes 108 HP with 200 Nm. Ford EcoSport is offered with two petrol engine options: a 1.0-liter turbo-petrol and a 1.5-liter petrol engine that produces 123 hp at 170 Nm and 121 hp at 150 Nm, respectively. On the other hand, Hyundai Crete is offered with a 1.6-liter petrol engine that produces 121 hp with 151 Nm of torque. Now, if you compare the official specifications of Mahindra XUV300 with its rivals, the new SUV gets the highest torque figures of all, but with a reduced number, in terms of power.
Transmission:Speaking of the transmission, Mahindra XUV300 has a 6-speed manual for petrol and diesel versions. Hyundai offers 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic in versions of petrol and diesel of 1.6 L, while the 1.4 L is offered only with manual 6-speed. Ford Ecosport is available with a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic for the larger 1.5 L petrol engine and a 6-speed manual is offered with the powerful 1.0 L petrol engine, while the diesel variant gets a 5-speed manual gearbox.
Interior and features:Speaking of the interior and features of the Mahindra XUV300, it has many features and is high in comfort. It also has some first segment features, like 7 airbags, front parking sensor, four disc brakes, soft hybrid technology in the diesel version and does not forget the steering mode that essentially alters the weight of the steering, all of which they are not offered on any of their rivals. Inside, it is well spaced. The list of features is far above all its rivals, however, the high-end EcoSport gets a first information and entertainment system with touch screen along with HID headlights. Unfortunately, Hyundai Creta loses all the features which are mentioned above.
Price:Speaking of the price of Mahindra XUV300, you can expect it to be released in a range of Rs. 8 lakh to 12 lakh. Ford EcoSport is priced in a range of Rs 7.82 lakh petrol base variant and this range stretches up to Rs 11.89 lakh for the top-end diesel version. Hyundai Creta price starts from Rs. 9.60 lakh and the range-topping SX (O) Executive diesel variant can be owned at Rs 15.63 lakh
